Северната ни съседка намалява стандартната си ДДС ставка от 24 на сто на 20 % от началото на следващата година. Промените са част от „План за фискални облекчения в Румъния 2016-2020“. 

Това ще бъде поредното намаляване на данъчната тежест в Румъния след като през април румънското правителство одобри промени в данъчното облагане, с които от средата на 2015 г. ДДС за всички храни, безалкохолни напитки и кетъринг услуги стана 9 %. По същото време румънският премиер потвърди и намеренията за цялостното понижаване на ДДС в страната от 24 % на 20 % от 1 януари 2016 г..
