На 24 април всяка година арменците по света отбелязват с факелни шествия и манифестации деня на геноцида и призовават Турция да го признае.

Арменският геноцид е признат с официални резолюции от ООН, ЕС, САЩ, Германия, Франция, Русия и множество други държави. Българският парламент през 2015 г. прие декларация с използване на термина масово изтребление, вместо геноцид.

Тази година, поради мерките за сигурност шествия в България няма да има. Арменската общност е призована да запали свещи и да ги постави на прозореца на своя дом.
