За промени в законодателството, с които да се облекчат изискванията за задължителен финансов одит на предприятията в България, апелират работодателските организации в обръщение към народните представители във връзка с предстоящото второ четене на предложените промени в Закона за счетоводството (като част от пакета промени в данъчното законодателство, предложени със ЗИД на ЗКПО).

Исканията за повишаване на праговете, при които възниква задължение за одитиране на финансовите отчети и отпадането на алинеи 2 и 3 в чл. 37 от закона, с които  са въведени изисквания за задължителен одит, базирани единствено на правната форма на юридическото лице, са адресирани неколкократно към финансовия министър. 

Представителите на бизнеса подкрепят несъгласието си с прилаганите в момента разпоредби с подробен анализ на праговете за одит в България, на Балканите и според Директива 2013/34/ЕС. В допълнение са посочени редица контрааргументи срещу мотивите за необходимостта от запазване на досегашната политика относно задължителния одит (виж ТУК).  

Позиция на ИДЕС относно праговете за задължителен одит е коренно противоположна на тази, заявена от бизнес организациите. Не като административна тежест, а като законова мярка за осигуряване достоверност на финансовата информация, която предприятията представят не само на собствениците, но и на широк кръг други заинтересовани лица, е представено задължението за одитиране на отчетите на значителна част от компаниите в страната. Според предтавителите на одиторския бранш евентуалното завишаване на критериите за одит би имало подчертано негативен ефект, изразяващ се в липса на контрол върху достоверността на финансовата отчетност и разрастване на „сивата икономика“.
