Румънският Фискален резерв е констатирал 2.2 % ръст на данъчните измами през 2013 г. 

Данъчните измами през 2013 г. са достигнали 16 % от БВП (от които 12,2 процента са укриване на ДДС) спрямо 13,8 процента от БВП през 2012 г., докато нивото на събираемост на данъците е спаднало до под 60 процента от бюджетните задължения, заяви председателят на институцията Йонуц Думитру, цитиран от Медиафакс. По думите му "Разбиването на данъчните измами предполага нулева толерантност към този бич. Ниво от 16 процента от БВП засяга националната сигурност, бъдещето на тази страна. Така, както имаме политически пакт за приемането на еврото, така би трябвало да имаме и политически пакт за борбата с данъчните измами"

Председателят на Фискалния резерв на Румъния посочва в изявлението си, че реформирането на Националната агенция за данъчна администрация е задължително. Ниската степен на събиране на бюджетните приходи според Йонуц Думитру се дължи и на прекомерната бюрокрация в Румъния, която се намира на 146-то място от 148 страни по отношение на ефектитеот данъчното облагане спрямо мотивацията за работа и инвестиране.
